Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. This site is all about building the jewelry that you want, exactly the way you dream it. The following options are available to add onto your order if you wish but are not required. You may combine them as you wish; for example, you can order a coin bell, copper plate it, then seal it in clear powder coat so the bell doesn’t tarnish.
If purchasing multiple pieces, please specify in the checkout process which item is to receive each specific plating option. Please note that these are an add-on services and must be combined with a physical product at checkout.
Please note that resizing of rings is highly discouraged once they have received any supplemental coating.

Electroplating
Electroplating is a process where your ring is suspended in an electrolyte and a current passes through it, giving it a negative charge and allowing metal ions to attach to it permanently, creating a thin layer. Consider a clear powder coating to protect your plating if you plan on being rough with your electroplated jewelry.

Powder Coating
Powder Coating begins similarly to electroplating; your ring will be suspended and a negative charge applied. A fine powder in the color of your choice will then cling to your ring (think of something with a strong static charge and how dust rushes to it). Your ring will then be baked in an oven to melt the dust into an even-thickness coating. Continued application of heat will cure the powder coating but I typically remove the ring from the oven as soon as the powder turns to liquid. A gentle sanding will remove the coating from all raised parts of the ring which will provide accent to all of the original coin detail. The coin will then be baked again until the coating is rock hard permanent feature of the ring.
